Lincolnshire-born bass singer George Elson took over as Musical Director of The Elizabethan Singers in September 2026, having just finished his final year of undergraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
He has extensive experience as a singer. Alongside roles at the RNCM (Parson / The Cunning Little Vixen, Le Héraut & La Cuisinière / L’amour des Trois Oranges), he performs with his company Fenwold Opera, having recently played the title role in Handel’s Hercules.
While still at school George sang in the bass section of the choir. He is very excited to be taking on the role of Musical Director and looks forward to taking the choir forward.
