Welcome to the The Elizabethan Singers’ Website
We are a mixed-voice choir of 35 members (SATB) based in Alford at the foot of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds. Our aim is to have fun, sharing our passion for vocal music through polished, professional performances. During the past year we have given concerts in Alford Corn Exchange, Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Alford, St James’ Church, Spilsby, All Saints’ Church, Friskney and St Wilfrid’s Church, Alford.
Our repertoire is very broad. We sing music of all styles and periods – we don’t just sing Elizabethan music! You can see more details of our music on the Repertoire page in our The Choir section.
We meet during school term times on Thursday evenings, 7.00-9.00pm, at Alford Primary School. In addition, when preparing for concerts we also have Saturday workshops during which we make final preparations for our performances.
New concerts are now being arranged and you can find details on our Forthcoming Events page.
Recruitment is important to us and if you’re interested in joining the choir we would love to hear from you. As with most choirs, we are particularly keen to talk to any potential tenor or bass members! (See the Joining the Choir section on this website for further details).
We hope you enjoy exploring our website and we look forward to welcoming you to one of our future performances.
